Alan Winfield left this review about Duke Of York
When i did my first few visits to the Duke of York it was an Ind Coope tied house that had Burton Bitter on sometimes, the pub had a few different rooms.
It is nice to see the Duke of York back to its original name.
Once inside the pub has now been opened out into one large single L shaped room with the bar facing, the room is bare boarded, there is a stage to the front right, the front left area is more comfortable with bench seating and chairs, there is a pool table to the rear right.
There were three unclipped pumps on the bar,the keg option was John Smiths Smooth Crap, but i opted for a Guinness which was tasteless as usual.
The pub was empty on my Saturday afternoon visit and the music was from Absolute Radio, which i like to listen to.
The Duke of York is now more of a live music venue.
