Presume this is a former Jennings house. The attractive sunken exterior gives way to a cosy and fairly traditional interior through a lens of refurbishment - tin signs, flagstone floor, curtains banquettes. Bar at the far end proffering two cask, TTL and Cumbrian Loweswater Gold which, after a cloth-eared barmaid autopiloted to a pint, was in decent shape (NBSS 3.5). Apparently there’s nice views across the harbour to be had during the day. Really liked this one, well-worth getting off the train for and I’m surprised that it isn’t GBG listed.
