Blue Scrumpy left this review about Limeburners
Set on the edge of the larger than anticipated village of Offton, this village pub is named after a local chalk pit that once contained lime kilns.
A fairly warm welcome was offered to this village local, which had a pool table at the top end nearest the door and a darts board at the lower end furthest away. In between, was the bar and a number of tables all laid out with trays of snacks (cocktail sausages, sausage rolls, pork pies, cheese sticks, quiche etc). I'm not sure if this happens every Sunday, or whether they were left overs from a Jubilee event. But it was a nice touch.
There are 4 handpulls on the bar, but just the 2 were clipped with ales from local brewery Mauldon's. They were Cuckoo & Festivale. I chose the Cuckoo, which was a bitter and not quite to my liking. But there was nothing at all wrong with it.
There is a large garden with an enclosed children's play area and there is also a fish and chip shop attached to the pub. Although, its opening hours were limited to Thursday, Friday & Saturday evenings, as well as Friday lunchtime.
