I called in on a quiet Thursday evening, having already done the Taggy Man and La'l Nook before eating my late dinner. By 9.30 the town was pretty quiet and this pub even quieter. It has the look of a hotel but the downstairs is split between two contrasting but linked seating areas with a bar counter in between. The three hand pumps were on the end of the bar and facing the entrance, with just Timothy Taylor Landlord and Wainwright available. I went for the Landlord, which was pretty good (NBSS 3.5) but pricey (£5 a pint, but luckily I only had a half).
