Blue Scrumpy left this review about Pheasant Inn

The Pheasant Inn is a former Jennings pub on the road out of Keswick to the north. Still run by Marston's, it appears to be popular for food. There is a small bar area to the left-hand side of the entrance with dining rooms on the right-hand side at the front and rear. With all tables taken, I had no choice but to occupy one of the picnic tables to the front of the pub. There is a further large outdoor area to the left of the pub over two levels, the upper level designated as "Taffy's Terrace".

5 cask ales were being served from Marston's - Wainwright Golden, Pheasant Ale, Forty Niner & Hobgoblin Gold & Ruby. Whilst seemingly much busier than when the previous reviewer visited, unless you're there to try the food, it really isn't worth the walk out of town.

Will Larter left this review about Pheasant Inn

I've been visiting Keswick for many years but have never been in the Pheasant before, so made a point of calling in after my walk from Borrowdale over the Catbells ridge. I was pleased to see Jennings Bitter on the bar, but I think the recipes for this beer and for Snecklifter have been changed as they are not as dark and malty as they used to be, having instead a thinner texture and a caramel flavour. The other beers were Cocker Hoop, Cumberland Ale and a house beer called Pheasant Ale 4.2% which was "brewed by Marstons" according to the pump clip. It was fairly quiet at the time of my mid-afternoon stop, with just a young couple and their dog preventing the pub being completely empty when I arrived. There was a very welcome open fire but sadly nothing else to tempt me this far out of Keswick on another occasion.

Absolutely FABULOUS food & friendly staff. Faultless. Ate there on 3 consecutive nights and had different dish and pud each time - perfect ! Thoroughly recommended.
