A detached Banks’s pub with patio area. The pub is a cottage style, extended at the back and has a cream rendered facade, but is predominantly in undressed brick.
The interior has a couple of rooms. There is a small plain lounge at the back, with a single person in, in a coffee colour, with no pictures that I saw – I just popped my head around the door. The main bar room is at the front. It is an L-shaped room in white artex with fake black beam walls, white ceiling and a red tile floor. There is a small gas fire. A couple of dart boards adorn one wall, with a few trophies and a pub picture on another, while a TV (showing a soap) is on another. The seats are mainly green leather perimeter seats and bar stools. There was no music. The service was fine and the place was populated by several locals.
Beer; usual keg stuff, with a decent Banks’s Dark MILD. Banks’s Bitter and MILD on electronic cask pumps and a decent Wye Valley Dorothy Goodbodys on handpull.
I really enjoyed this pub, it felt like a proper locals pub with a good beer choice. I would definitely return here.
