I was slightly apprehensive about a visit to this pub, which was the only one in the village of Hollym. Facebook posts suggested that only locals would be allowed entry due to Covid.
On arrival, everything looked closed. However, you are invited to ring the front door bell to access the pub. As it happened the door was unlocked and we were invited to enter by the landlord and landlady.
This is a classic old village boozer that has probably seen better days. We were the only customers and the pub smelt a little musty, which only added to its character.
The 2 ales on offer were Ruddles Best & Morland Old Golden Hen. It turned out that the owners are big West Ham fans and still have season tickets, which is very impressive considering the distance they have to travel. Both were friendly and happy to talk. The resident dog was equally friendly and excited to see some customers.
Fascinating, but quirky place that is worth a visit.

Fairly plain interior in this village local doesn't help make it feel great somehow. But some excellent beers and I'm sure you could end up having a good session.
