Colin Walker left this review about The Clansman
The Clansman is now the only pub in the small village of Plean, as the Plean Tavern has now been converted to residential. The village is now bypassed by the M9 but, sits on the more leisurely A9. The door on the right at the entrance lead to the bar area. This is the smaller half of the pub as the left door leads to the much larger lounge, where bar meals are served on a Saturday & Sunday. The bar counter has room for only 2 people, but there is plenty of seating for around for at least another 20 customers. There are 2 large TV screens, one was showing football and the other showing horse racing. As it was a football night this TV could be heard, but did not disturb any conversations. The beers on draught is Staropramen, a beer from the Czech Republic, I was informed by the bar maid who is also the owner’s lovely daughter that this was priced at £2.70. Also, on draught in the bar area are Coors Light& Guinness. The bar serving area connects to the lounge where there is Tartan Special priced for a limited time at £2.00, yes £2.00, so hurry if this is your favourite. Also available from the lounge is Tennent’s, Carling Dark Fruit Cider, & Blackthorn Cider. As all beers can be brought through from the lounge ask the lovely bar maid who can run down your possible favourite. Overall a very pleasant and friendly pub. There is parking on the left side of the building.
