My most recent visit here was on a Monday lunchtime and the place was, understandably, much quieter than on the previous occasions I'd been in. The music was at a far lower level and there were only about half a dozen customers. My companion was drinking cider and asked for a pint of Strongbow. When the barman informed us that it was temporarily unavailable, he offered Magners instead. This wasn't particularly to my friend's taste and his face proclaimed as much. Noticing this, the barman then said he could have it free of charge. A small matter for a large pub chain, no doubt, but I thought it was a nice touch nevertheless, especially as it was my round. As I dislike all species of cider, I opted fo a pint of San Miguel instead. Guinness, Belhaven Best, Tennent's lager and the other usual Scottish staples were also on draught.

This is part of the well known chain of, supposedly, traditional Irish pubs and is similar in style to the others of the same name around the country. There was at least one actual Irishman serving behind the bar, who poured Guinness in the proper, unhurried way that it is poured in Ireland. The extensive bar menu includes Steak and Guinness Sausage and Steak and Guinness Pie. One unusual feature that I hadn’t noticed before in a Molly Malone’s was the Red Hand of Ulster flag hanging beside the Republic’s tricolour. Prices are very competitive with a pint of Carling lager retailing at £2.65. San Miguel and Stella Artois lagers and Belhaven Best are also on draught, in addition to the Guinness.

The pub is named after a song, which tells the fictional tale of a fishmonger who plied her trade on the streets of Dublin. This is a popular song, set in Dublin, Ireland, which has become the unofficial anthem of Dublin City. This is inkeeping with the Original Irish Pub theme. This is a Belhaven pub and also inkeeping there are pleny of tables to enjoy the food from the large menu.

The name Nialls has not lasted too long. Belhaven have renamed the pub Molly Malone's keeping the Irish pub theme going.

My Wife and I stopped at Nialls before getting the train. I cannot praise the staff highly enough they were very friendly and attentive. The food was absolutely lovely. I had the battered fish which was huge. The only thing stopping a 10 from me was the loo's and the music volume. Well done Niall's we'll be back.
