Visited back in August. This is a curious looking place as from the outside it looks more like a hotel than a bar open to the public. Inside it is very much diner themed but has plenty of outdoor seating that feels more relaxed. At the bar, three hand pulls in active service for cask ale, plus another decorated with two cider clips, so may well have been advertising bag-in-a-box jobbies. My half of X Pale by Shed Beer set me back £2.70 so taking the cost of a pint beyond the £5 mark, for a very average 4% pale ale. I am not convinced that mine was in the best of condition. Service was a bit slow and not particularly friendly.

As mentioned earlier there is outdoor seating - consisting of picnic tables to the front and more to the side on a raised decking area behind a glass screen, presumably to shelter from the wind with being so close to the sea. Approximately half of this space is covered by a tarp style roof, protecting against the unpredictable weather.

I had high hopes after seeing they offered local ales from Shed Beer, but unfortunately I was a bit disappointed with this place really.

Iconic vaguelly art- deco seafront entertainment pub overlloking the (on my early April midday visit) choppy Irish Sea.We were in the upstairs function room, so I was unable to visit the downstairs bar. No real ale in our elevated haunt, but the bar staff kindly fetched pints of Westgate Gold from below for us. Friendly service and a good spread on a sombre day.
