Blue Scrumpy left this review about Powis Arms (The Quay)
Roadside pub that has recently re-opened. The owners of the pub are now running it again, after a tenant left. However, they do intend to lease it out again.
Having parked in the very limited parking area just across the side road from the pub, I arrived to find a closed sign on the door. However, the owner and her daughter (as well as a few neighbours with twitching curtains) had noticed my presence. They opened the door, saying that they opened at 5pm but that I was welcome to pop in for a quick one.
I spent most of my time chatting to the landlady and her daughter. So, I didn't get the chance to explore the pub. However, there appeared to be a couple of traditional rooms. 3 handpulls are on the bar, with one clipped with Conwy Welsh Pride. The landlady informed me that it had been tapped that morning.
I certainly struck lucky finding the owners present when I attempted to visit. Times on WhatPub suggesting the pub is open all day daily are certainly incorrect. So, it is perhaps advisable to call in advance if planning to visit.
