As an American who has visited many UK pubs, I have to rank The New Inn in Coldingham as one of the toppers. Great food, friendly and competent staff, and a good selection of beers are the three qualities I look for in a pub. New Inn excels easily in all three. I have had many meals and many more beers in this fine, clean establishment.
