Blue Scrumpy left this review about The Craw Inn
In an area with very few real ale pubs, this pub is a bit of an oasis for the area. In the sleepy village of Auchencrow, the pub opens at weekends and on some weekday evenings. It has a tiled entranceway with bare boards in the section to the left and carpet to the right. As such, the left-hand side is more suited to drinkers and the right to diners.
4 cask ales are available. Timothy Taylor Landlord & Fyne Ales Jarl are the regular beers. Guests were Fyne Hurricane Jack & Hardy & Hanson's Rocking Rudolph. Greene King Level Head & Belhaven Best were on keg, along with Aspall's being the cider. For those inclined, Fosters was available for £3 a pint.
The bar has pale blue painted walls. One local who was quite chatty noted that pumpclips that had been on the beams had been removed. The landlord said that this was due to some forthcoming works. However, whilst he wanted to put them back up afterwards, the landlady had other ideas!
The landlady seems to be the expert in the kitchen. There were already a small group of punters ordering food early on my Wednesday evening visit. Apparently there is a separate dining room to the rear, but this did not appear in use.
A lovely village pub. Not sure how it has dropped out of the Good Beer Guide.
