A peculiar facelift and renaming of a village pub. The front half in the original building has become a steak restaurant but the back half, in a large extension remains as very much a pub. However it is in a large, fairly featureless room with modern furnishings and light decor and almost feels more like a club. Down one side are a couple of leather sofas, with random chunky wood tables on the other and a pool table in a side room. The modern bar counter has a couple of handpumps amongst the mainstream eurofizz but only one was in use dispensing a very palatable Rudgate Sun Zest. Outside there is a large roadside patio and accommodation units across the car park. It all felt a little bit downmarket and the rubbish music didn't help, but the beer was OK.

This pub has reopened .My wife and me stopped at this pub and had a great time.The hosts Ray and Adele are making a grand job relaunching the pub.The catering was excellent.The beer was too.Keep up the good work ..
