Fairly food oriented now, or certainly more so than I recall from 15 years ago. There is a small bar at the rear, done out in chocolate shades and hosting a dart board - the light and airy front room is for diners only. Two ales on; Black Sheep Holy Grail and Wye Valley HPA (an appley tasting mess, NBSS 1.5). Disappointing.

The Wild Fowler nestles in some lovely countryside on the way to Machynlleth. It's not a bad little place either; spread out over two bars, it offers an ale (London Pride, oddly for this part of Wales), food and some great views from the outside patio. Food served (Monday night is curry night). Pub is wheelchair accessible and pets are allowed in too. Pool table, quizzer, darts and TV all present and correct. Child-friendly, has a play area for specially for them. Worth a Saturday excursion. Rated 7

Found this place whilst driving on a wet Saturday night, decided to see if they did food, very glad I did!
Very well laid out restaurant, brilliant food and the little touches of veg in separate dishes, linen napkins and good service made it a pleasure to visit. Only one real ale on (Thwaites 'Wainright') but it was a great pint.
Well worth a visit, whether to eat or drink.
