Situated on the main A483, this is a country pub that was fairly quiet on my Friday lunchtime visit, with just a couple at the bar and a group of women who appeared to be drinking coffee.
The interior is fairly traditional, with a small bar area, a larger dining area and what looked like a function room. Stonehouse Station Bitter is the regular ale. Wye Valley Butty Bach was also on.

This pub is a set in a wonderful location. The food is home-made and the menu changes daily. The menu is not pretentious but offers simple, inexpensive, locally sourced food from soups, pies, curries and lasagne. All cooked on the premises. No commercial, frozen or cook chilled food. Not 5 star but excellent as it stands

A warm, wonderful welcome with inexpensive home cooked simple food. No jus but gravy and" no cook, chilled food" pretending to be prepared by chefs. What you order is simple, inexpensive and tasty. Well worth a visit
