Large hotel with a bar open to all. Lots of outside seating. It was very busy when I called as there was a wedding party on. Luckily we got to the bar just as the photographs outside where finishing! Only Doom bar on the ale front but as it was a very hot day I had a quick Coors. They did have Blue Moon Belgian White beer available also. Friendly service.

A detached a rather large hotel complex. The bar/restaurant area is of undressed brick, with white string courses and end stones, with a date of 1699. There is a nice front lawn area, with fountain and tables (photo supplied).

The interior of the bar was a small room in wood panel and white ceiling, but there were rooms off, i assume for dining. There were tables in the small bar, with candles and suited business chaps quaffing wine. There was a TV on the wood panelled fireplace with Sky News being watched by the lady on the sofa between pages. There was a wood floor. The service was professional as befitted the place - I felt a little suffocated and made my escape to the lawn.

Beer; tap stuff with Peroni, along with Courage Directors on handpull.

Not my kind of environment. Those that like a touch of upmarket will like it.

When working in Telford I often stay in this hotel for a change of scenery. The bar is open to all and has a great garden for outside drinking in the Summer. Inside the bar is wood panelled and also has wood flooring. There's a neat fireplace, but overall it does feel like a hotel bar. Only one real ale available which is Courage Directors, but the fact that it has one at all is a minor miracle. It's usually pretty well kept as well. I often call in here for one when staying, usually on the way out or on my way back. It's not bad at all for a hotel bar.

Stayed at this Hotel over the Easter weekend and would highly recommend.

The rates are very reasonable and we stayed in a Suite (which was the same price as a double when we booked), our room was on the 1st floor (pictured in the cream building) which spanned over 3 rooms (window left to right). We had a lounge, bedroom and fantastic bathroom (take a look at the bath!!).

I have included this Hotel because I thought Butlers Bar and Restaurant was worth a mention. It is incorporated within the Hotel but is open to non-residents. The food is fantastic and so is the extensive wine list.

There are plenty of other pubs to choose from on the high Street, you are spoilt for choice.
