A small town pub, still owned by Marstons and configured as described by Aqualung (pbuh) below, plus th addition of a cluster of gaming machines in the middle of the floor, a woodburner in the alcove, an open fireplace at the far end, and a jukebox. The aroma as you enter is predominantly stale dog, though this is periodically overwhelmed by smoke blowing in from the patio at the back as people enter and leave. The main accent seemed to be Scouse rather than Welsh, there was some robust banter going on, but overall it was friendly and jovial. Two handpumps on the bar, but only one ale on, Pedigree, which was in poor condition but just about drinkable. On keg were Marston’s Smooth, Fosters, Stella, Strongbow, Guinness, Carlsberg, Stella and Moretti. Not Llanwrst’s best offering but tolerable at a push.

This is an original Marston's pub as it's listed as such in my ancient North Wales beer guide. You enter into a long narrow room with a pool table at the rear and a further quieter area to the right on the other side of the bar. There is a small alcove to the right as you enter which has something unique, wallpaper designed to make it seem that there are shelves full of books there.
Although there are three hand pumps only one was in use and that had Marston's Saddletank which was under three quid but a very dull beer.
I found this place fairly uninspiring.

A very friendly pub that is laid out in a traditional manner (whatever that means).
