Formerly Brynhoffnant Inn, this has had a major injection of capital and is now the brewpub of Cardigan Brewery. Looks very snazzy and there’s clearly been a lot of work (being) done inside, with a new rear extension offering lovely views over the valley. However, we didn’t get to experience any of that, as the Rona meant we were confined to the large grassed garden area with attendant table service and booming cheesy music. To be fair it was a very good effort and they’re well-set for lovely summer days. Two cask amongst the beer list, Hazy Dai (NBSS 2) and Sunny Dai (3) as well as kegs of Crafty Dai, Stormy Dai and Dai Wen and Dai Iawn (are you seeing the gag here yet?). Beers themselves were of little real merit beyond homebrew, the Dai Wen excepted. Maybe brewing improvements will come over time and experience. For now though, there’s no doubt that this will become an essential summer day stop for many in the area. 6.5
