The Chairman left this review about The Well
Open again - it's been closed and reopened several times since the last review - and seeming to do a reasonable trade with an enthusiastic, younger management. Often a venue for larger groups celebrating birthdays and the like; on the occasion of my visit it was a wake, which feels slightly awkward if you have no connection to the deceased or any of the guests! Taking things steady, they are just serving from one handpump and the present time, and that was offering Draught Bass which was a bit on the cold side. So, after drinking that I crossed the road to the Bricklayers.

Will Larter left this review about The Well
Now open again with a smart grey paint job on the exterior and rough or recycled timber on the walls inside. Goes back a long way, so could hold quite a few customers if they turn up. Cocktails prominently advertised, but there are also a couple of hand pumps, with beers from Tring Brewery. I had the Side Pocket for a Toad, which was in good condition but took forever to pour because of a faulty line. At £1.80 for a half, this was the most expensive beer I've ever had in Luton. I'm told that some regulars from the now closed English Rose have found their way here - I don't imagine many would bother to cross the road from the Bricklayers Arms.
