Blue Scrumpy left this review about The Carpenters Arms

I know I've visited the other pub in this village at some time in the past. But Sunday was my first time in the Carpenter's Arms. I do tend to focus on visiting pubs in the Good Beer Guide. This one last appeared in the Guide in 2004! Since then, it has been an Indian restaurant/bar before reverting to a pub. That probably explains why I haven't been back to the village since I visited the Swan.

There is a single room, which wraps around the bar. It was reasonably busy on our Sunday evening visit but we weren't in the best of moods after suffering a puncture from a rather large pothole just outside of the village. Luckily, we managed to limp our way to the pub but we missed out on the last couple of pubs we were planning to visit, as our transport home was via tow truck!!

St Austell Tribute is the regular cask ale. Guests were Black Sheep Best Bitter & Butcombe Chris Moose. Weston's Rosie's Pig Rhubarb Cider was also available. My Chris Moose was fairly decent and locals/staff were fairly sympathetic to our plight.
