This free house was saved by the villagers in 1997, when after an incarnation as a fish restaurant it was at risk of becoming a private residence. I thought there would be a Dutch theme at work here as a board affixed to one of the outer walls proclaimed "Dutch Pancakes, Poffertjes, Satay, Bitterballen, Vlaametjs, Shoarma", but there was little evidence of this inside. Entering via a narrow corridor, you turn left into the main bar area which faces you. The room is a rough L-shape, with the bar occupying the crook of the L. A dining area is located to the right and was unoccupied during my visit. Just the one beer on which was Tring Moongazing and was in fine fettle. There's a narrow beer garden out back with a trampoline at the end, which was strangely enough was being used by a father and his children despite it almost being pitch black as I departed.
