Quinno _ left this review about The Walter Arms
Quite a comfy and upmarket gastro in a fairly unusual building (built by John Walter III the grandson of the founder of the Times newspaper). Inside has quarter-length beech panelling and walls painted in those 'feature' colours you see at the Dulux stand in Wickes. Large grassed rear garden and gravel side patio. For somewhere that thinks it’s upmarket, the gents were pretty grotty and I noted damp on one of the walls. Two bits of bar, ales are round to the right and not obvious on entering. Adnams Ghost Ship (warm but drinkable), Courage Best and Rebellion Smuggler. Could and should have scored better. 5.5
