Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about Fox & Hounds
Food-led Butcombe pub in a hamlet about 15 minutes' walk south from Theale station. Very busy on a Sunday afternoon, so with the tables in the three dining areas, and the general seating area on the corner by the bar also full, I had to take one of the last remaining stools by the counter. Original (£5.45) and Adam Henson's Rare Breed being poured from two of the three handpumps.

Now acquired by Liberation from Wadworth, therefore Butcombe beers are now the order of the day. Two cask and some Butcombe keg on the other day. The Original felt a bit light and fluffy compared to the hefty maltier brews I'd had a few days earlier in the West Country but was drinkable enough. Internally the pub remains as it did.

Continues in much the same vein as my last review. The cask in here is reliable and merits its inclusion in the 2019 GBG.

A pub that was heavily overhauled a few years back from a smoky drinking den into a middle-of-the-road ale and grub house. The inside is quite cavernous and nicely fitted out and also sports the best toilets in the Reading area, very nice. Five Wadworth ales on the go along with Westons Traditional Scrumpy and quality usually fairly good. Food is pretty good, decent portions at a fair price. Turn left at the station rather than right and it's about ten minutes walk.
