Strongers . left this review about The Old Fleece
The Old Fleece is a basic pub with a central bar counter that serves pretty much identical seating areas either side, although the three down-to-earth locals all preferred the left-hand bar. At the rear is a room with a pool table and dartboard. Each room has a television and there’s also a jukebox. Standard and premium keg was available from the friendly guy working behind the bar. A clean, but well used pub that I wouldn’t go out of my way to revisit.

Another late afternoon opening pub in Stalybridge (midweek). Not a bad pub but sadly for here there are 2 better ones by the station. Still I wouldn't deter people from going.

Two roomed pub with an island bar serving both. The room to the left is a little more like a lounge, but there's not much difference between the two really. There was a sign outside telling me to come in and try their "Fine range of cask ales". These turned out to be Hobgoblin & Courage Best Bitter!! I had a half of the Hobgoblin which was just OK and moved on. I found it to be a very nodescript, average pub really.
