Located on a bend, the Cock & Pheasant Inn is a long and thin pub with a central tile floored bar area with a serving counter across the rear that faces seating in between the entrance and an exposed brick fireplace. The right-hand side of the pub acts as a restaurant and up the left on the other side of the pub is raised seating that includes a dartboard at the rear and a projector on the front wall that was airing muted golf via Sky Sports because there was no Sunday afternoon football due to an international break, which may be why this area was empty apart from one other customer. Available from the polite bar staff were premium keg alongside Neck Oil, and three of the five hand pumps on the middle of the counter were in use drawing Wincle Beer Co’s Sir Phillip, Doom Bar and Storm Brewing’s Bosley Cloud. Much like the pub itself, the Sir Philip was OK, but I’ll probably pass next time.
