Strongers . left this review about Bunters Bar

Bunters is a large sprawling sports bar housed in an old shopping arcade, which is evident from all the different areas inside. I actually thought is was a closed bookies as I approached, not finding the open entrance until I had turned the corner past lots of sporting decals in the large windows. A green hue along the entrance corridor and into the bar had me thinking that this was an Irish venue, but I think the owners just like the colour green. There are two bars, one at the rear that was closed and one up the left where standard keg was available alongside four hand pumps that were drawing St Austell’s Hicks, Tribute and Proper Job. Televisions and projectors are located throughout, an early kick-off Champions League match was on all the screens so the jukebox was switched off. In a room to the right are three pool tables that were all in use, I guarantee there’s at least one dartboard tucked away somewhere. There were thirty or so people in, which didn’t feel like many due to the size of the place. I bet it gets rammed in here for big matches like Exeter v Plymouth, or at the weekend for the advertised live music. This is the sort of place I would have lived in 25 years ago when my life revolved around football and beer, but maybe not so much now.

Bunters Bar is massive inside and has entrances of two different streets.
There is a large oblong shaped room with other rooms off it,one has four pool tables, there was a large screen in the main room showing sky sports.
There were four real ales on the bar,we had a drink of St Austell Cornish Best, which was a nice drink, the other real ales were St Austell Tribute,Bath Ales Jem and Bath Ales Prophecy.
Not really our type of pub,but the beer was decent enough.

Did this bar when it was on the CAMRA good beer guide a few years ago but both ales we had were not good. it was out the guide for a few years. went back in recently but was very busy early evening and nothing different on in the ale front to other bars in town so didn't stay.

Called in for a drink here as it is featured in the 2010 Good Beer Guide. Large airy pub with more than one bar area, the others being for evenings or events I expect. A phone box and large screens can be found inside. Conservatory feel to parts of it. Sell local ales, and we had Skinners Betty Stogs and St Austell Tribute, both of which were in good condition.
