I thought I had been here before - very much reminded me of another pub, with the church opposite and a higgedly piggedly entrance through multiple buildings. It would appear that I haven't.

We had tried at the nearby Gurnards Head but that was packed to bursting. This too was packed. Where on earth is everyone getting the money from post-festive season :-). We moved through an intriguing looking low ceilinged bar with a log burned to find another room setup for dining with less interesting cafe style tables/chairs. Still, we were grateful.

Beerwise - Tinners Ales, brewed by Sharps. Looked like doom bar. Tasted like doom bar. Was in a doom bar glass. It was doom bar. The other beer was Zennor Mermaid (I think), which is Sea Fury.

Foodwide - well, we were horrified that a crab sandwich was £17.50 in the Gurnards Head. Its £18.50 here. Without chips. So a quick pint and sarnie post walk is now coming in North of £50.

Time to get my butty box out of retirement :-)

Called in on Tuesday when I was starting a walk along the coastal path to St Ives from Zennor and enjoyed a half of Sharps Zennor Mermaid. A good beer but it was £3.60 a pint which I felt was a little steep. The pub itself is charming in a great location.

Brilliant location for a pub. Food OK, beer good. Welcome a bit offhand. Booked in a party of 10 which I thought was good for business in these difficult times. However, they were not particularly bothered one way or the other. Not a place I would bother going back to. If you ignore the disadvantages the location is magic.
