Can't argue with the previous review - got trapped for an afternoon with a large family group - mainly as it satisfied some key criteria - it's a sports bar - and half the party wanted to watch the football. Large tables, where 11 of us could sit together. This included a very pleasant outside terrace when the mid-football formula 1 drove us outside into the sunshine.

All keg - with Camden Pale Ale or Guinness the best of a bad job.

Oh, called the Anchor downstairs and the Rendezvous upstairs.

A ghastly grockle-trap on the harbour, it looks like a grand traditional pub but is in fact a soulless, noisy dive full of drunken idiots and unhelpful young staff. Owned by Stonegate, the business occupies the top floor of the building which was once The Anchor, the remains of which persist in the floor below, connected by a staircase, and being part of the same business despite the traditional sign on the harbour side, and another former pub premises to the side. They have incorporated a nightclub as well, which just makes the whole venture more hellish. No real ale, just a range of keg, cocktails and shots. I should definitely not rendezvous with anyone in here.

So-so pub, tends to get packed with tourists whatever time of year so I leave them to it - there are much better pubs close by.

This is a large sprawling pub that is next to the harbour.
There are rooms on three levels and we went in the lower level room that you enter from the harbourside.
This room was very large and seemed a bit bare but this was on a dinnertime, there were no real ales on here with the only bitter being John Smiths smooth crap so i had a Guinness here.
This is not a pub i would visit again.

pub visited 25 August 2000.
