This traditional village pub is a GBG regular. There is limited car parking, and there is a garden at the side which offers superb views. There is also a skittle alley at the back which is used as a function room. Inside, there is a single square bar which has a custom-built oak and brick bar counter. Inglenooks at both ends contain sofas rather than fires. The pub is dog friendly. The locals are welcoming and the staff very pleasant. There is no WiFI and no other electronic distraction, though there is a well-used dartboard. Some food is offered, most noticeably the regular Friday night fish and chips. Two ales on, Doombar and Sharps Cornish, both in perfect condition and a sound endorsement of the regular GBG entry. Definitely worth the effort to find.
