E TA left this review about The Grove Arms Inn
This roadside inn has 17th Century origins, traces of which remain and can be seen among the recent renovations. It offers B&B, and the current owner is Hall and Woodhouse. Most of the building is thatched, giving it rural charm. There is a small patio at the front with tables and chairs, and there is more outside seating in the terraced garden behind, which is more sheltered but lacks views. The carpark is on the hill at the back, quite a steep climb. There are various bars inside, a mix of flagstones and carpeted areas. A set of stairs leads to a games room with a pool table and gaming machines, while the majority of the bar area is laid for diners. Food was good value, although I found the chicken curry a bit bland. Free WiFi is available. They host occasional live music acts. There was only one ale on, Fursty Ferret, which was in excellent condition. There was also Rosie’s Pig cider in a pin behind the bar, also in good condition. A good place to stop for a meal or a pint, and I’d be happy to stay here overnight.
