A large high street pub in a modern small town, currently owned by Marstons. There is a small carpark at the back from which you enter the pub through a smokers' terrace with tables and chairs on an artificial grass floor. There are also tables and benches at the front. The single large L-shaped bar is carpeted and reasonably pleasant, and it includes a spacious longer are with a woodburner at the apex. There are two gaming machines to provide entertainment. The regulars seem to be predominantly elderly, one even leaving his mobility scooter in the middle of the bar. Staff were pleasant enough, but we didn't feel too welcome. Three ales on draft, all from Ringwood. I had a pint of Razorback, which was over-gassy, too cold and rather tasteless. Probably OK for a pitstop if the Bournemouth road is busy, but I wouldn't rush back otherwise.
