Recently reopened after 16 months' closure, and still a Palmer's tied house. The current landlord is a welcoming Army veteran who is happy to take time to chat. The majority of clients were elderly locals, many of whom were drinking coffee rather than beer. Indeed the landlord pointed out that the pub often feels more like a Costa than a boozer. The bar is open plan, has a stained glass main door and a stripped timber floor. There is a large coffee machine on the bar, and the music coming from the speakers was 1980s pop. Five handpumps on the bar but only three ales on, all from Palmer's - 200, IPA and Dorset Gold, all in good conditiion. Also available on keg were Guinness, Orchard Gold cider, Dorset Pale, Amstel, Moretti and 1664. Worth including n a crawl or popping in for a swift one.

The George Hotel is right in the middle of Bridport near the junction of south street and east street.
This is a decent comfortable pub that is wood panelled and every time i have been in here its been very busy.
This pub is a Palmers tied house with a god choice of their beers on the bar i had a drink of Palmers best bitter which was very nice there was also Bridport bitter, Palmers 200 and Tally Ho.
I think this is one of the better pubs in Bridport and i am always happy having a drink in here.
