Strongers . left this review about The Star
My recent Sunday afternoon visit to the Star coincided with the end of the Waldron Classic Car & Bike Show, so there were some interesting vehicles driving past the gawping petrol heads who were sat on the picnic tables outside the front of this picturesque village pub. The entrance leads to a tile floored bar area that is dimly lit with yellow and red lanterns. An L-shaped serving counter across the rear faces the entrance and a wooden floored seating area found against the front wall. To the right are some wooden tables that are looked upon by a pleasing to the eye inglenook that is adorned with some horse brasses and tankards that are also found across the old wooden roof beams above the bar. A separate parquet floored seating area runs up the left-hand wall to a small restaurant at the rear. Out the back is a grass covered beer garden with picnic tables and a large car park.
Premium keg was available alongside four hand pumps, two of which were in use drawing Harvey’s Best and Three Acres Brewery’s Session Pale. A gastro menu is available with the burger being priced at £17. The opening hours a very restricted with the doors being closed Mondays and Tuesdays, I’d check before visiting. A couple of the older staff (owner) were less than welcoming and I got the feeling that they’ve made their money and they’re now just coasting. The restrictive hours also play into this theory. It's a shame because this place could have been a 9/10, but unfortunately I’ll not be driving out to this pub again.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Star
Very attractive village pub, with the expected partly opened-out, multi-room interior featuring a variety of different seating and dining areas around what is now an island bar. Most traditional around the main counter, with other parts lighter, fancier or more modern in appearance. Large rear beer garden. As mandatory in these parts, the two active handpumps from a bank of four carry Harvey's and Gun Brewery's Scaramanga extra pale (£4.60, but rather disappointing).

I wasn't expecting much from the village pub in the small village of Waldron, but was pleasantly surprised. It is located right in the centre next to the village's war memorial, which appear to be where all roads meet. There is a small car park to the side with a garden beyond that. With the car park being completely full, street parking was the next available option.
Most people were out drinking to the front of the pub when we arrived. We chose to sit inside and were soon followed by quite a few others. The central bar has seating all around, with most tables reserved for diners later in the evening, which probably explained the number of people outside. But bar staff invited us to take one of the "reserved" tables.
Harvey's Sussex Best Bitter is the regular beer. Gun Scaramaga was the guest.
