A Fuller's pub in a village the other side of a bridge over the M40, this is traditionally low ceilinged with a central servery, cosy bar seating in a carpeted area to the left along with TV screen, and rugby paraphernalia, with an open hearth to the left containing bric a brac and a modern stove fire. A dining area is located towards to the right and back of the bar. Fullers London Pride was the only option over two pumps, although annoyingly despite facing outwards, I was told ESB and Seafarers were both off. Although I was informed that the Pride would be good as it was "only put on today", indeed it was, but you'd expect it to be for £4 a pint. I walked into a throng of locals playing a game of spoof for charity, one of the lesser heralded pub games and a convivial atmosphere it was too, so not all bad, and probably worth a summer re-visit.
