An unpromising exterior and at first glance the inside of this pub was not much better. As I approached the bar I could see four hand pumps but only one beer on, and that was a blonde. By this time it would have been rude to walk out - besides, it was a warm day and I could do with a beer. The barman was friendly and the customers didn't have any fights to pick with me, so I went and sat down at a bench near the front window. Pleasant surprise, the beer was pretty good. In excellent condition, in fact, not to mention well-balanced: Yorkshire Brewing Company Supernatural Blonde 4.2%. Based in Hull, this is one of Yorkshire's newest micro-breweries, apparently. The walls of this pub have several displays of former pump clips, though some of them are clearly quite old, being from now-defunct breweries such as Archers. Not a destination pub, obviously, but worth a visit if you happen to be passing.

The Hole in the Wall is a smallish one roomed pub in the spring bank area of Hull.
Once inside the bar was at the end of the room and there were no rel ales on it with the only beers being Worthington and M&b mild i had a drink of M&B mild and it was'nt that bad a drink even if it was'nt real ale,the pub was quite busy on a saturday afternoon.

This place used to be an amusement arcade, so it's a bit shoplike. There are quite a few lowlifes around in this part of Hull and at times this place gets it's fair share. The beer has always been good when I've been in but getting served can be difficult as all the regulars lean on the bar so you can't get to it. I'm not sure why I like this place, but I do. There's always a friendly welcome when I call in on the way to/from Pave.
