A large and imposing Georgian pile on the busy A40 that runs through Cheltenham, this is unashamedly under the auspices of Greene King, with plenty of livery and logos on the exterior of the building and a yawn-worthy line-up of London Glory, Olde Trip, and 'Lansdown Roar' (most likely badge-engineered GK IPA), with a fourth clip reversed. BrewDog Punk IPA, Camden Pale Ale and Guinness Hop House 13 were craft keg options (the former £2.40 for a half). The interior is a rectangular-ish room, with a part-wooded, part-tiled floor, a raised area / function room to the right, and smallish, carpeted 'snug' dining area to the left. The remaining tables opposite the bar were of the tall variety, seemingly so beloved these days (James Stewart's character in 'Vertigo' would have struggled) and there's also plenty of seating in a large patio area out front which affords stunning views of the A40 and a Texaco filling station. Various large screens were showing cricket and snooker to no-one in particular and posters and menus screamed of the food and drink deals on offer.
