Rex Rattus left this review about O'Neill's
This O’Neill’s has the same blue exterior and “corporate” interior seen in all O’Neill’s pubs, but this one is different to most as it does three real ales – London Pride, Doom Bar and Purity UBU (£3.50 a pint). The usual reasonably priced pub grub menu is available as well.
I think that this might be the first O’Neill’s that I have reviewed, and I’m delighted to be able to make some positive comments about the customer service here. On arriving at the bar my presence is acknowledged by the barmaid while she is serving another customer – a big plus in my book. Unfortunately my pint of UBU is undrinkable (line cleaner) but said barmaid pulls hersef a mouthfull and agrees the problem is line cleaner. She then pours me a half of Pride so that I can taste it; then when I confirm it’s OK she pulls me a pint and gives me the first “taster” half as well. Not a big deal, but I’m pleased to be able to report a “customer service success”.
So, my feelings towards this place are quite positive despite the undrinkable UBU, but it’s still an O’Neill’s and their brashness isn’t really to my taste. But the ale selection and customer service in this one puts it a cut above the rest.
