Situated in Hampton Wick, just across the bridge from Kingston, the pub has a L-shaped modern and rather sterile interior, with polished wooden flooring and plenty of sofas and armchairs. One end has a pool table which seemed a little at odds with the general ambience. Two TVs were showing the football with volume muted while some low level Muzak played. There is an attractive looking original fireplace down one end with a few books stacked on top but that's really it as far as original features are concerned. Decor includes a few local River Thames scenes and a fair bit of foliage in the form of large pot plants.
Just the one handpump serving Pride (£3.40) and lots of shiny fonts. Outdoor seating available in "The Courtyard". Food was advertised but I didn't see anyone partaking,

Gerry Lane left this review about The Old Kings Head
Anyone who eats out in this area and doesn't give The Old King's Head a try is really missing out on a good thing. Working locally for almost 3 months, we ate there every day after our first visit. We were never disappointed by the standard of the food, and certainly never bored, because the wide choice from the international menu and the regularly-changed Chef's Specials wouldn't permit that.
Give it a try! You'll be glad you did.
