Strongers . left this review about The Old Packet House
The Old Packet House looked closed as I approached, but thankfully the entrance around the left side was open with a couple of smokers lingering. Inside there’s raised seating to the left of the entrance and seating by a double sided fireplace to the right. The bar counter runs up the left facing seating and windows that look out onto the passing road through iron railings. A second fireplace is found on the rear wall adjacent to a television for live sport and a dartboard. A second television on the back bar was showing Racing TV and there was some background music that was turned up when some locals arrived from a funeral. The bar counter supports standard and premium keg and two of the three hand pumps were in operation drawing TT Boltmaker and Ossett’s Blonde, the latter being a decent pint, especially at the happy hour price of £3.90. Whilst I wouldn’t go out of may way to revisit I would use this pub if I lived locally.
