E TA left this review about The White Hart
Originally an18th Century roadside inn before the A31 was built, now a decent, if unexceptional, village pub. There are two separate garden areas on two sides, and there is a less attractive smoking area at the front. Inside are three separate bar areas. On the left as you go in is a saloon bar with a muted TV, a woodburner in a brick hearth and some comfy seats. To the right is a dining area with tables set for meals. There is also a games room with a pool table, darts an a TV showing live football. Food is pub grub and Sunday roasts. Only one ale on draft, Butcombe Original, which was in fair condition. Keg options were Doombar, Mahou, Inch’s Cider, Corona, Guinness and Stateside IPA. It didn’t feel that welcoming, and the staff weren’t very engaging. Fine for a quick pint or pub meal when travelling by.
