E TA left this review about The Elm Tree Inn

A traditional thatched village pub which has been extended and modernised over the years, losing perhaps some of its charm, though retaining its purpose and function. There is a large car park at the side and rear. A paved terrace and neatly trimmed garden, both with benches and tables, are at the front. Inside is a main bar formed by conjoining earlier rooms, with a large brick chimney breast at one end and a TV screen the other. Behind the chimney is a small snug, and there is an upstairs function room, The Forrest Room, reached by a staircase at the other end. A separate building houses the Barn Bar and skittle alley. It’s a lively local with pleasant staff and welcoming regulars, though it’s a bit lacking in pub atmosphere, feeling more like a chain pub than a village pub, an image enhanced by the standard mass produced pub menu and average beer choice. Being within a few weeks of Halloween, the pumps served Old Ghostly Hen and Old Spooky Hen, alongside Abbott and Landlord. The keg range was Guinness, Amstel, Asahi, Moretti, Madri, San Miguel and a Thatcher’s fruit fountain. Dog snacks were also available, but at a cost. Not a bad pub by Ringwood standards.
