Formerly a Brickwoods house, now owned by Enterprise, this Victorian high street pub is one of the better ones in this vicinity. The L-shaped single bar is mostly wood floored, with a raised carpeted area at one side. Etched windows indicate where the previous bars were before the inevitable knock-through. It has a pool table, dart board and free WiFi. It is dog friendly and hosts regular pool competitions. On arrival we were invited to help ourselves to the free hot buffet. The pub is very welcoming, staff were helpful and the locals keen to chat. Two ales on draft, both in very good condition. Worth visiting if passing, and I would include in a crawl.
