Strongers . left this review about Hare & Hounds
The Hare and Hounds is a long and thin country pub with a central bar area that is bookended by seating geared towards dining. In the bar area is a log fire which I imagine is appreciated as the colder weeks approach. I didn’t spot a television, but there was some very low background music playing. Out the back a strip of grass supports picnic tables and some climbing apparatus for the youngsters. There is also a fenced off play area for the very young and to the left of the pub is a large car park.
There were no diners during my recent Tuesday afternoon visit, but I did note that the mains were all priced around the £10 mark. Available from the four hand pumps on the bar were Badger’s Busty Ferret and Tangle Foot alongside King & Barnes Sussex and Ringwood’s Best. The available keg was Fosters, Peroni, Amstel, Caledonian Three Hop and Guinness alongside three keg cider options.
This is a pleasant pub; it was just a shame that the young barman saw us as an imposition. My wife found him to be disinterested and I found him to be a prick. If my two young children were not with me I would have taken him to task, shame.
