Moby Duck left this review about The Old House at Home
Now reopened with new owners after a four year slumber and when it was thought all was lost, The Old House at Home is not quite the traditional pub it once was but has been sympathetically modernised inside and retains a pub feel despite being rather food led, it is in fact a rather good take on a modern country pub. It is privately owned but there is currently a years tie to Heineken in place I'm told. to cover a financial investment from them in setting up the cellar etc. So inside is a pubby drinking area with walk through dining areas with outside seating for the summer months. Four handpumps with three clipped on my visit, Doom Bar of course along with a local offering of Andwell Gold Muddler and my choice of a rather decent Dark Star Hophead. It's always nice to see a pub reopen from the brink of death, this one has turned out better than expected with the promise of more varied beers once the tie has been done and dusted.
