Lovely-looking building with some nice architectural touches including a portico doorway, overlooking the village green. Modernised upmarket L-shaped interior, bare boarded with rugs. Lounge muzak playing at a middling volume. Tables had inlaid wine box fronts, which I thought were quirky but others might call pretentious. Nice dark varnished bar and back, sported four ales: Bombardier, Pride, Wainwrights (good) and a house beer of unknown Provence (middling). Frighteningly expensive, £4.60 for two halves and my companion whose round it was did a double-take. Too expensive for me so not one I’m likely to go back to, especially with the Waggon & Horses a few seconds away.

Not been what I would call a real pub for a long time, I'm talking decades. Some decent beer occasionaly at a price but no pub atmosphere and although local to me not a place I would choose to go, have paid over a year ago £3.60 for a pint of Thwaites Wainright, at 4.1% average strength, albeit a nice pint. too much to pay.
