The pub occupies an enviable position right on the beach. The ground floor bar seems to mainly cater for off sales of cans etc for beach users but upstairs there is a main bar plus two other side rooms, one fully set for more formal dining, the other being more of a general seating area. There are three outdoor terraces upstairs which afford superb views in all directions over the Solent, towards Portsmouth and Southsea and along the large expanse of beach. In fine weather this is a splendid place to sit and spend an hour.
Inside there are numerous half round windows, also providing excellent views so they can be enjoyed in all weathers.
Typical maritime decor including ships wheels and lights, open boarded vaulted ceilings and boarded floor, one side room had a log burning stove, certainly not needed recently!
There were two on hand pump, Irvine Frigate and Portabello Star while amongst the keg offerings were Big Hug Brewing Juicy Pale and Big Smoke Solaris Pale.
I didn’t expect too much considering the location but it was actually rather good.

Located right on the beach to the west of Beachlands, a very pleasant airy upstairs bar/restaurant with splendid views over the sea. Downstairs is a smaller subterranean Beach bar open at busy times (or available for hire) serving the extensive patio overlooking the beach. A bit posher than the other pubs in the area but a very civilised place to enjoy a pint looking out to sea. Still serving the two Irving beers and house beer, with a guest: London Road Brewery Lost in translation wheat beer.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Inn on the Beach
On a good day (which it was when I visited), this food-led pub occupies the prime position suggested by its name. However, being at the west end of the Hayling Island seafront, it probably not overwhelmed during the summer months but was still doing good business very early in the season. The main bar and dining areas are on the first floor but another bar can be found at beach level, at there is a split-level terrace in front of both right by the sea. Three real ales on handpump: a 'house' Best Bitter plus Frigate and Invincible from Irving.

One place you would have a job to find if you did not know how, but I reckon the views would be worth the effort
Parking spaces, good job as it surrounded by pay places
