A large 1930s mock-Tudor style roadside pub just a bit away from a trading estate, once a Harvester. It's a fairly ordinary pub dating from the 1930s but on the site of a much older establishment which was associated with the livestock trade. The building has carpeted floors and leaded windows, and it's pleasant to look at. Two main bar areas, one a carvery and restaurant, the other more of a saloon bar, but dominated by a pool table bedecked with motorcycle clothing and various children's clutter. Food is cheap formulaic chain food. There is a jukebox polluting the airwaves, a gaming machine and a TV screen which was mute during our visit. The barmaid was friendly and jolly, and there was an elderly pub dog who seemed to accept his lot philosophically. It's popular with families, mainly due to the cheap, standard pub grub which is the usual weekday fare. There is plenty of parking, and although there is a garden area, it's not attractive and is rather spoilt by excessive road noise. Two handpumps on the bar, one with a reversed Doombar clip and the other dispensing Pride, which was over-gassed and rather unsatisfactory. Probably fine for a quick stop, but there are better places to get a round nearby.
