Blue Scrumpy left this review about The Sun Inn

With the Star Inn having closed, the Sun Inn is the only remaining pub in the village of Bentworth. It doesn't appeared to have benefitted from the other pub's closure, as there were only 2 other customers (sat outside) when we arrived. By the time we departed, they had gone and another two had arrived. The young barmaid looked fairly bored.

The pub has a lovely, traditional feel with a mixture of tiled and brick floors. There are large fireplaces at either end. A smaller room to the far left provides access to the toilets. There are some old pictures on the walls and tankards and horse brasses on the beams. Music was playing quietly. Free wifi is available and there are some board games to play near the entrance. Drinking space to the front is limited to a few tables and there is a smallish car park to the right of the pub.

6 handpulls on the bar points to a decent cask ale range but just Palmer's Dorset Gold & Flower Pots Pots Bitter were on. The cider was Dorset Orchards Orchard Haze. There is obviously some sort of tie with Palmer's here.

Opening is limited to 5 days a week with afternoon closures on weekdays and early closing on Sunday when the food service finishes at 4pm. Our arrival was after this time. So, perhaps it is much busier when food is being served. Otherwise, despite it being a nice pub, I can't see how it remains a going concern.
