A surprisingly pleasant GK dining pub tucked away off the main road in a canalside location. The decor is boringly corporate but tidy enough and there was a good relaxed pub feel with as many people just drinking as there were eating, so not overly food-based. The cask ales were also a little better than expected, with TT Landlord and Tribute alongside Abbot, London Glory and Impact, a "Chef & Brewer Collection" special. I would avoid the canalside garden on a summer weekend but otherwise would happily return.

A large modernised pub on the banks of the Basingstoke Canal,Its a Chef and Brewer pub so food is obviously to the fore. Opened out inside but with several areas as you would expect mainly set for eating purposes, the general theme is oak beams and some exposed brick lending a country pub feel. there is a drinking area adjacent to the bar with some less formal seating, chairs and tables and upholstered benching. Surprisingly I found six active hand pumps although not much to set the pulse racing, House beer Mucky Duck (origin unknown, not by the barman anyway) GK IPA,Courage Directors,Thwaites Wainwright,Hop Art Hoppy Blonde, which was decent and a Cider on pump six. It is what it is and not a place I'm likely to return to, but theres nothing particularly wrong with it that said.
